Río Seco Natural Area in Pilar de la Horadada

Río Seco is a course of water filtrations from crops. In large areas, the yellow sandstone walls have beautiful forms created by erosion, showing abundant strata of embedded shells.

Río Seco is the last stronghold for species linked to the waterways of the municipality. Rosemary, thyme, mastic, steppes and hearts-of-pam border the cattails and reeds. Carobs, taray, brooms, ephedra and esparto make up just a small sample of the wealth of botany in the area.
